Mdzananda Animal Clinic Khayalitsha
* Mdzananda Animal Clinic, is the only permanent animal welfare support to Khayelitsha, a sprawling “township” area outside Cape Town, South Africa which is home to about one-million people.
* The project provides free sterilisations, and low cost or free treatment for dogs and cats.
* Mdzananda is open to the public five-and-a-half days a week, an emergency service operates after hours and Sundays.
* Mobile outreach clinics are held on weekday afternoons.
* The project now works from six recycled shipping containers which are fully serviced and it employs seven people who hail from the local community.
* Mdzananda has its own veterinarian who sterilises animals at the clinic three times a week.
