Anna Foundation
Run by founder Anna Brom on donations from local businesses, The Anna Foundation aims to uplift rural, disadvantaged schools and communities by providing academic, social and environmental support and equipping children with skills for life-long learning. The 3 R’s: Reading, Running and Right-ing programme followed is based on a holistic philosophy of ‘Healthy Body, Healthy Mind’. Children joining the programme aim to qualify for a monthly running event by reading two books per week, completing the literacy worksheets, taking part in the sports programmes and showing responsible ‘right’ behaviour and a positive attitude. The Anna Foundation trains local, previously unemployed, farm women as 3 R’s teachers.
